The scorching heat of summer has finally set in and so also is the time to heat things up a bit with this year’s seasonal styles, for those of us in U.A. we all know the weather has been hot not just warm this past few days, therefore an “almost” hot weather calls for light make-up and easy hairstyles that are big on comfort and convenience.
So whether you intend to sun yourself or engage in an action-packed adventure, holiday packing requires careful consideration as there’s the temptation to take your entire wardrobe to cover every social situation and complication or as we like to call it hazard, this panic-packing is a common symptom of pre-holiday preparation, and is something we’ve no doubt all experienced while attempting to wrestle shut an over-stretched suitcase.
With all that said, here are some tips you may find useful :
Summer is a season of colours. While most people prefer cool or pastel shades in this season, no one can escape the neons which have been added to the summer staples list as a carry forward from 2012. Somewhere between the delicate pastels and the bold neons, lies the bright and happy shades of lemon yellow, cobalt blue, fuchsia pink and emerald green that are perfect for our summer. These shades are not as bold as neon nor are they as soft as pastels, but bright enough to help you make a style statement without making you feel conscious about it. Enjoy. 🙂
If I could, I would write an entire column about this trend. This style is classic, can be dressed up or down and is ridiculously flattering on a woman’s waistline. Starting an internship? Pair a peplum top with a pencil skirt and blazer.
Night on the town with old high school friends? Pair a peplum top with jeans, heels and include a chunky necklace. Your wardrobe would NEVER be complete without one of these. 😉
MAXI DRESS AND SKIRT
For the past two years or so, maxi dresses and skirts have been at the fashion forefront of holiday wardrobes, and their popularity is set to grow this season – so invest, invest, invest. As a rule of thumb pack two maxis: one plain that you can wear during the day for flawless floaty style; and a dressier, smarter fitting maxi for a special evening out. Colour-block dresses are perfect for daytime appeal whereas bold floral or Aztec prints make for gorgeous evening designs. However you wanna rock this it ALWAYS turns out awesome!!! 😉
Be it classic nautical blue and white stripes or bold colourful ones, stripes of all sizes as well as orientations (horizontal, vertical, diagonal) are one of summer 2013’s biggest trend. From high street to street style and from dresses to shoes, stripes in all shapes, forms and colours are available. While we all grew up wearing stripes, to transform ordinary stripes into a fashion statement, pick a stripe pattern that complements your body type and accentuates your assets.
Chunky neon-coloured clothing and jewellery. It’s neck pieces designed in geometrical shapes can highlight an outfit and make for that perfect final touch. Footwear like flip flops, brogues, wedges and shoes were a huge vogue in 2012 and will continue so this year. Accessories this season have two sides : the loud use of block colours or on the other hand, simple attire with no accessories at all. 🙂
Lastly and of course not the least, as we get ready for the beaches in different parts of the world, some of the swim suit ideas below would make you stand out. 🙂
Hope y’all found this post helpful…. 🙂
This song would get ya in the groove…. Enjoy 😉
